Here is the discipline policy that we will follow in our class. These rules are:

 

1. Listen carefully and follow directions.

2. Respect others and school property.

3. Use your good manners.
   4. Work and play safely.

5. Raise your hand to speak.

 

 

            In our class, we use a clip chart to determine consequences when rules are broken. Each child’s clip starts at the top of the chart and can be moved down once each time a rule is broken. This chart has six steps:

1.      BEST BEHAVIOR (This is where everyone starts!!)

2.      WARNING

3.      SILENT LUNCH (child sits at lunch without talking to anyone)

4.      CLASSROOM ISOLATION (child’s desk is moved away from others and/or a privacy partition will be placed around the top of the desk)

5.      CALL PARENTS! (If  parents cannot be reached, the child will write a note that will be sent home to be signed and returned.)

6.      GO DIRECTLY TO THE PRINCIPAL

 

            Positive reinforcement will also be used in this classroom in the form of:

        • Praise
        • “Good notes” sent home or calls home
        • Stickers
        • Prizes
